SS hardware on a 12 1/2 ??

Greetings!
I have been on the hunt for a 12 1/2 and came upon a 1936 vintage. It had stainless steel for all the deck hardware, including the traveler and the chainplates!  I thought this must have been the result of an extensive restoration, until I saw another 1936 boat with exactly the same hardware! I believe this must actually be original equipment. Did HMC run out of bronze for a time in the mid 1930's? Anyone know the build history of the HMC 12 1/2 with regard to bronze vs stainless steel?

I do not have access to the full run of 12 1/2 contracts but see that hull#1241, delivered 6/11/1935, has a contract that specifies "Stainless Steel Fittings".

Thank you, Teeter, for your help. It is useful to know, as I suspected, that the stainless steel  metal fittings were indeed original to the HMC build of some boats of this vintage.
