"A fully restored 6 Metre Herreshoff in original layout. Raced successfully. Her voyages to Norway, her circumnavigation of Ireland and extensive cruising around the Western Isles  were written about in "At the tiller" by Iain Rutherford.

She was one the first 6 metres to compete in the Americas cup in 1921. Mentioned in many magazines and books."

Is she a HMCo, or maybe an LFH design but built elswhere?

Adam:  She is hull 861 in the registry.  Lorna sold her but we don't know the current owner.  I believe she is still in the UK.

Don't bother.  That's an old listing.  Lorna is the ex-owner, not current.  I forget if that email address is no longer active or I just never got a reply.

Sheila #861s was designed by Starling Burgess and L. F. Herreshoff and is significant because she was the very first vessel built by the HMCo that was not designed in-house. She participated in the first British-American six-meter races but did not distinguish herself very much. Tom Brightman as well as Agnes Herreshoff took quite a few photos of her when she was trialed in Bristol.
