Well, leaving Saint Augustine @ sunrise and cruising down the ICW, I had a lucky feeling today! Could I find that elusive Herreshoff Harbor Pilot ……? The problem with Fla. is there are thousand of canals & lagoons off the ICW, and I could be cruising right pass that sweet rig and not even know it…… As I was coming up to Daytona Beach , my heart started beating faster knowing there are 4 large marina’s on the ICW , I have stayed @ the famous Halifax Harbor Marina , several times in the past ,knowing its one of the biggest marina in the area , I thought my odds were good …. NOPE! So, I continue down the ICW, thinking to myself, Cheez even a blind mouse finds food every once in awhile? As I’m coming up on the town of Melbourne (use to have a 67 X 100ft long stucco green dragon on its point reef, as a land mark in the past years). Remembering my past bloggs there was a Herreshoff Harbor Pilot located in that town, can’t remember the owner name? …. NOPE! Sadden I continue my journey south, until I came upon Vero Beach! Knowing Vero Beach Marina had both dock slips & mooring slips, this could be the place….. With great expectations I enter the marina longing for a sighting, there in the distance of mooring balls was the majestic hull from 1 to 10 a definite “10”, has my eyes start to wander up, Hum... it was a “Herreshoff American “…… Oh well, heading to the world renowned Sailfish Harbor Marina on Singer island….. Stay Tuned !
