Very nice - I noticed the shameless plug mentioning you  .

Photo's are stunning - what beauties. Curious - I don't see that many (I can’t recall any....) 15's Marconi rigged. What was the reason behind SN #1 built this way - and was there a noticeable speed difference between the rigs? Oh, and who won the race?

The Watch Hill 15s were marconi rigged, and many of the newer ones are built that way.  I've heard that the rigs are reasonable evenly matched, though I don't have any personal experience to validate with.  I guess we'll never know who won.

Such a good newsletter.... Interesting on the Fish....So it's free as long as it comes with a rebuiild contract I assume? Hypothetically, what do you think the damage would be?

Also found it interesting they are building a new one as well - I assume using offsets taken from this hull?

I have it on good authority  , that since the lead can be reused as well as some of the original hardware, the expectation would be around $100K, maybe a bit more.

I don't think he is using lines taken from SCULPIN for the new one as this boat isn't physically in his shop.  He may have the plans from MIT.

Note he is also building a third 15.

Alec is a nice guy and does magnificent work ... I am glad to see him busy.
