« on: July 21, 2011, 03:57:06 PM »
The Parrakeet, hull number 1210, 1934 is for sale in Marion, MA. She is in excellent condition, maintained by David Peterson in Mattapoisett. I am moving to Vermont, so I cannot keep her. $15,000 asking price. Available for a test sail anytime. 508-208-9460.

What about Lake Champlain?

I don't know where in Vermont you're headed, but here on Lake Champlain we have at least two original wood 12's, a couple of Doughdish's (Dough-Di?) and at least one CCSB 12.

We'd love to have your company.  And before you ask, yes... there is a terrific yard that can handle serious work.

I am going to Burlington, but my understanding is that a salt water boat can't be transferred to fresh water....

Yikes!  Whoever told you that?!  We have twelves, an L. Francis Ariminta and even a Bar Harbor 30 on the lake!  The only difference you will notice is that you never have to hose off the salt.  Come join us, we'd love to have you.  E-mail me, and I'll get you the membership chair at the Malletts Bay Boat Club.

Hey Jon,

I still don't know where I am going to moor my 12 when she is done in two years.  I live in Albany, and was thinking maybe Silver Bay on lake George, but My experience so far sailing my little skiff there is that the winds are tricky coming off the mountains.  Champlain might be better although a bit farther, not sure.

Any thoughts? Especially about marina's on the NY side.

I've got a good chart of lower Lake Champlain.  I'll take a look and let you know.
