I was at The  2012 Annapolis Boat Show , and spotted this boat - kinda odd ? Wonder what kind of boat she is ?

they seem to be authentic sandbaggers, I have actually never seen one, but the ones redrawn by François Chevalier seem to be exactly that.
Are these replicas? I don't think the HMC ever built one...

youtube has a couple videos on Bull & Bear so I will check them out now.

Bull and Bear are two identical sandbaggers owned by Peter Kellog.  They were built by John Brady at the Independence Seaport Museum of Philadelphia maybe ten years ago.  They travel the boat show circuit and take folks out for a true experience.  Hats off to Mr. Kellog for his contributions.

The first yacht in Mystic Seaport's collection was Annie, an original sandbagger, built in 1880. The term sandbagger is derived from the fact that 50 lb. bags of sand were used as ballast, dragged from side to side by the crew when the boat tacked. The boats raced on LI Sound.

We purchased a house that had an old fiberglass and wooden boat with its original trailer. It seems to be a bigger sail boat with a cabin. The last inspection sticker was 1972. Pretty cool but nature obviously has taken over. Will be available to take away this Saturday. Its needs some TLC and restoration job. You must find a way to remove. Totally FREE
