I'm in the process of buying a 1981 15' Minuteman catboat, built by Squadron Yachts of Bristol, RI.
(They've been out of business for decades, but at the time they also produced the Herreshoff America, Herreshoff Eagle, Harbor Pilot Launch, Herreshoff Scout and other fiberglass designs.) Our boat has the optional cuddy cabin and it was designed by John Fox. Do other Catboat Association members perhaps have any background information on the Minuteman design, including copies of period ads, brochures, photos or other details? Subject: Squadron 15' Minuteman Catboat
We got the 1981 Squadron Yachts Minuteman home, launched it late yesterday and had our first sail today. What a great little boat! At 15 feet, it was designed to compete with the Marshall Sandpiper...but Squadron Yachts was short-lived, so they apparently built few of the Minuteman models (but more of the Herreshoff America 18-footers, judging by the Catboat Association roster).
