And Ellen was the Class A Handicap Champion pretty much the same years that Dad won the Class B Handicap in H-12 "Target"(nee Minx). 

I remember going to all of the Invitationals as a kid.  What a cool set of boats there were in the Handicap divisions.  There was Ellen, a Timberpoint, an E-Scow, the old Great South Bay catboats like "Yes, Pop" and "So Long", Cape Cod Mercurys, Cape Cod Knockabouts, Beetlecats, Celebritys, Comets, Windmills, and of course us in our Marconi-rigged 12.

The GSBYRA only wishes they could get 180 boats out for any reason today...

For Jon...I'm the last person to sail the Yes Pop...And I remember your dad's boat..Also sailed the So Long...Querida and Ellen were the most beautiful boats on the bay.  Scariest were the Narrasketucks breathing down your neck on a leeward leg when you were a little kid in Seaford Skiff.  Did many a race week in the late 60's and early 70's.
