Very sad... My favorite of the Concordia's because she was one of my "hero's" of yachting's  boat - Jack Parkinson. She was in near perfect condition - and recently put up for sale no less. Hope they rebuild her ASAP.

We were on the same starting line when the collision happened.  It happened maybe 150ft to leward of us.  Gut wrenching sound.  The Swan spun Winnie 360 degrees.   We sailed on through the line and watched them head for the harbor channel.  Only realized they went down later when the CG announced a hazard to navigation of a sunken vessel in the channel. 

Great to see they raised her with crane and barge in what looks like mainly intact condition (minus the whole in the bow).  Heard from the captain she will be completely repaired and sail again.

Starboard hole.  Vessel sunk.  Rule 14 says they both are, key word "shall":

SECTION B
GENERAL LIMITATIONS
14 AVOIDING CONTACT
A boat shall avoid contact with another boat if reasonably possible.
However, a right-of-way boat or one entitled to room or mark-room
(a) need not act to avoid contact until it is clear that the other boat
is not keeping clear or giving room or mark-room, and
(b) shall be exonerated if she breaks this rule and the contact does
not cause damage or injury.
