Title: Artisan Boatworks 12-1/2
Post by: Steve on July 17, 2008, 01:47:47 PM: Artisan Boatworks is selling a stunning authentic reproduction of a 12-1/2. You probably saw it if you were at the Wooden Boat Show in Mystic a few weeks back. It was done with an eye toward historical authenticity ... they even went so far as the follow the Herreshoff tradition of the craftsmen signing the underside of the deck. You can see it at:

Also, though this is the wrong thread to post it, he just got a commission to build a BB 18. There were only a hnadful of these built and all are unaccounted for. I can't wait to see it.

Post by: Adam on December 05, 2011, 02:01:13 AM: It's not the sail area thats impressive to me - my 29' had 490 - but the displacement - its only 4400 lbs - less then half of my Bluechip! With that said numers can be misleading - my 22' Marshall is one of just a few built with 440 sq' and displaces around 5K - somehow I think the BB18 is a bit faster ;)
