Hello I have an Alerion 111 built to the Herreshoff original plans, cedar on oak with bronze screw fasteners, hollow sitka spruce spars gunter rig, jib club, bronze adjustable goose neck, sail track, mahogany combings. This boat is beautiful and yet to make her first launch. She comes with brand new Lee sales and covers, brand new spars with all the new bronze hardware fittings installed, 90 percent of the bronze hardware included, Just a few pulley's are required to complete the bronze hardware package. The lead keel has not been cast yet but the pattern is made and is ready to be cast the keel is the last big part of the boat to completed.
To commision a boat like this is $200,000 +, Although this boat is not fully completed it is very close . But this is an excellent opportunity for someone that wants to own and sail what the NGH himself chose and designed for himself as personal sail boat. I'm open to offers or trades.
My reason for selling
My lake were I am is not quite big enough for this boat and I would prefer a WH15. A cold molded WH15 is my goal because I will be using it in a fresh water lake.
She's craddled on a brand new 8000 lb aluminum trailer I am considering to have the keel cast by a local foundry this summer if I don't sell her first.
