Hi - I have a '78 HA 18, and it has an external 110 volt receptacle (not 30 amp shorepower).  Is this a battery charger?

More likely an inverter...I have that set-up on my boat. Only way to be sure is follow the wires. I've seen these things wired direct to 12vdc - so you just never know....
