Title: Fantome R18 Toronto is looking for information of former owners prior to 1960
Post by: HENRY PIERSIG on January 08, 2012, 02:51:50 AM
Henry and Vicki Piersig are keeping the boat on the starting Line,
I have been 30 years on the boat, in first the 15 years a syndicate of 4 owners raced the boat very actively. At that time we we raced under the banner of  the Lake Ontario R Class Association. Than there was a decline of the fleet and it was awful to race PHRF for some years. Some boats have moved around and now things look a lot brighter. Toronto has Fantome. Diana and Gypsy, and Sodus Bay has Nayada and Vitesse ready to bring back the Association.

Henry:  I don't recognize the name.  Is she a Herreshoff?  Do you know her hull number?

I'd contact Scott Rohrer - who is sort of the defacto R class historian and also the captain of the west coast resoration R "PIRATE". Try www.r-boat.org. if anyone would have the info it would be him.

He's listed under the contacts.
