There are some very interesting tidbits of info on the Herreshoff Design Facebook page about Mr. Sid's Arion.....Maybe Adam L. can let us in on a few secrets?? 8)

I found a lot of good information from her current owner, Damian McLaughlin.
All the information is here at http://dmcboats.com/takingshape.htm , but apparently he found her in pretty wonky shape and did an amazing job restoring her.
More recently, a naval architect from Barrington did a slight redesign of the hull/rig and had her built for someone- you can read about it at http://www.mattsmithnavalarchitect.com/waltergreene.html

He had her up for sale for the last year or so and my understanding is she was recently sold....Not sure where she is at the moment....

ARION has been at Taylor and Snediker in Pawcatuck, CT getting a quick 60yr overhaul before she comes home to Narragansett Bay. Will get some pictures up when she splashes! Adam

And where on Narragansett will be her new home? 8)

The new owner of Arion and I looked at Walter Greene several times while contemplating the purchase of Arion. There was talk at the time that Walter Greene would be coming on the market. From our first racing in Bristol:

And this was a week before our first race:

She being re-jel-coated? Love that 2nd pic - what a beauty.

Awlgrip, following 49 fiberglass repairs. The original color came from white pigment added to the resin. She is white through and through.
