Nebula, the wonderful L. Francis Herreshoff-designed H-28 that was built for Rudder editor Boris Lauer-Leonardi by Hodgdon Bros. in 1947 is for sale on Ebay with a starting price of just $8,800.
This is the real thing. The stuff of dreams. Read L. Francis Herreshoff's Sensible Cruising Designs and there she is.
Unbelievable. No one is interested in her on Ebay. No one is interested in her in this forum.
Is plastic just so much more alluring than wood?
Sad times I guess.

This is one well kept boat. I already have 2 big projects or I would jump on it.

My wife and I had a serious discussion about this very boat yesterday. We even got to discussing shipment methods across the country. But the winters here are hard, and inside storage limited. I truly hope a good owner is found for this legend.

By the pics it looks like a deal. Surprised one of the Wooden Boat forum west coast guy's don't jump.
Always had a soft spot for the H-28 ever since I was a kid and googled over the one in my YC. Wonder where that one is Jon? - she was a beauty?

Dad says Vie and Alex still have it, and are sailing her in their 90's. They built it in their backyard from the plans in "Rudder".
