Title: New Bedford Whaling Museum
Post by: Adam on November 03, 2008, 11:04:18 PM
The New Bedford Whaling Museum now has a Flickr site that would be of interest to folks here. Lots of early Photo's by A.C. Church and Norman Fortier (and others) showing Yachting and life in general of the early 1900-1960's are on line (as are the earlier period of the whaling era of course).

Shameless Plug:
The section of southern coast - Eastern RI to Cape Cod - has so many "hidden" nooks I find it a fantastic place for "day trips" with my family. Usually overlooked by folks heading to Boston or the Cape, there is so much History here (especially for those of us interested in the history of Yachting). Like the HMM, I find a stop to the New Bedford Whaling Museum to be a "must" - certainly next to Mystic, it has to be one of the largest and comprehensive of it's kind.
