Herreshoff Boats For Sale / Re: Herreshoff 12 1/2 for sale

I am a marine surveyor. I recently inspected a "plastic" version of the 12 1/2. I found the 12 1/2 to be very "shippy" for it's size. The more I looked the more I came to like the design. I just don't know if I could stand to own an FRP version after owning an Atkins and then a Rhodes.
They did launch the 12 1/2 so that I could get a look at her while afloat. This still doesn't mean much but it is an interesting concept.

The Marlin and Fish classes look a little larger than I was wanting. How about trailering these?
Would you believe the prices for Slips here in So Cal? Dana Point is around $350.00/month and Newport Beach is way more for a slip. Moorings in Newport Beach are selling for about $1,000.00/foot for the right to lease.

I am in Southern California.
The amount of the project will have depend on the project. Even if I could afford to pay for a "restored" boat I would much rather put the sweat equity into it. Having just said that, I would need a boat that could make the trip or I would have to stabilize it first.
The boat must be an original Nat built.

I forgot to clarify the "SPARTAN" was 42'3" on deck, the waterline was 29

Hey Steve,
I already looked at the classifieds. I am looking for an original that needs allot of "craftsmanship" or restoration. We have had a few wooden boats so hopefully I am up for the task.
Altair was a Billy Atkins double ended cutter. We cruised and raced her throughout southern California. I owned her for 9 years before passing her on to her new owner.
Our last boat was a Rhodes 29. We won allot of hardware with her, owned her for 18 years and lived aboard for 13 years. "SPARTAN" required the normal restoration work that an older wooden boat would.
I am stating this so that someone with an "heir loom" would take me serious. I believe that a 12 1/2 would be a great project and most likely our last sailboat.

I was wondering if this 12 1/2 is still offered?
I am considering restoring a 12 1/2 soon.
