Hi All!
Crosby Striper owner John Powers is near comletion on his restoration of 1960 Hull #70, and has a question/request. He asked me to send this write up out to you all and see if anyone could help him out. See below:
Hello Crosby Striper enthusiasts.
My name is John Powers, and I am from Marshfield, MA and North Falmouth, MA.
I have been rebuilding #70 in Marshfield for quite some time and launch date is very close.
The boat has the original Palmer IH264 which I rebuilt when I started the project.
The transmission is a Paragon HFD Hydraulic Reverse Gear.
I have discovered a potential problem with the Reverse Gear as it seems to be "in gear" and does not shift when test running the engine.
I am working on it, and I have also talked with a transmission company in Rowley, Ma who can work on it, but there are a lot of unknowns.
I have asked Sam Lawrence to send out this message to ask if anyone might have re-powered their boat at some time, and if there is a possibility that your original engine and reverse gear might be available?
You can contact me at 781 864 9114 or jcp200@hotmail.com.
Thanking you in advance for your help!
