I went to a lecture at HMM a few years ago about the Hawaiian S-boats, and I thought they said all were now gone. On one of them, the owner had removed the frames and glassed over the inside. Frank McCaffrey was a moderator, I could see him cringe.

I've been on Nautilus a few times, although never sailing. The Pedersens are wonderful - Bill designed the interior, and I love it. They've sold an interest in Nautilus, but I think kept part ownership. They also owned the original Araminta, now at Mystic.

Sean, thanks for the interesting information!

#963 is listed twice. I assume #963 Elizabeth is right.

Which one is Sufi?

Bill:  Do you know who now owns Nautilus?

Sean:  I was just studying your post from a few weeks ago and making the updates.  You listed both SUFI and ELIZABETH as hull #963.  I am pretty sure that ELIZABETH is 963, so I assume that was a mis-type for SUFI.  Would you know what her hull number is?

TRAPPER is listed as being either number 961, 962 or 965.  Obviously, somebody did some research.  These numbers would indicate that  TRAPPER was built by George Lawley & Sons.  Would you know if that is the case?

I saw VOLUNTEER at Beaton's Yard last week.  She is in pretty rough shape.  I believe the owner might be interested in selling her if the right deal came along.

Looks like Tom has "Musketeer" (1414) back up for sale - there is an ad on Boston Craigslist....

Yes ... I saw it yesterday.

BTW, have you tired crazedlist.org?  You hafta use Firefox and adjust a setting, but it lets you search multiple CL sites at one time.

Don't know if anyone will see this, but I bought Elizabeth from the Mystic Seaport, to which Bill Pederson had donated it a number of years ago.  Renamed her to Saltatempo, and have had her cared for by Bruce Avery at Noank Marine Service each off-season, and sail her down to City Island early in the summer, where I can day sail in the western LI Sound.  Beautiful, fun boat!
