The reason I don't have better pictures of this Herreshoff Bay Fisherman is that the family 1969 Mako 19 footer that i have been using since 1969  had some motor issues , so i had to take the mail boat to the Outer Islands.  This was as near to the Herreshoff that i could get to take these less than perfect foto's.......

1969 Mako 19 ft.

Hello everyone.  New to the registry but have been a fan of the 18 ft Harbor Pilot for some time.  Finally saved a little money and am looking for a decent one but that won't break my bank that can use some TLC in the Northeast area.  If anybody knows of any for sale please let me know.

Thanks
Brian

Thanks Doc.  I m trying to get a decent, seaworthy boat that needs some restoration but not a complete rebuild like the fire damaged one shown on ebay.  My budget is limitted but may be able to find some more cash for the right boat.  Thanks for the interest

Another Sighting of a Herreshoff Harbor Pilot in " Martha's Vineyard "... Looks like a Nauset Harbor Pilot Edition boat to me , they built them Without the Cat Rudder ....

Another Sighting -1985 Herreshoff Harbor Pilot - Located in Hyannis MA at Nauset Marine. Nauset Edition !  " No Cat Rudder "
( Most of the Herreshoff Harbor Pilots have a Cat Like Rudder )
But this one was manufactured like that !

i thought that the 1985 Nauset edition started the " No Cat Rudder " production , but I was WRONG !

So , the question is did Nauset Marine start a New Hull # series or leave off with the early Hull #'s from Squadron Yachts ? Well , 1985 Sky King is hull # 115 .  need to find some pilot's with hull #'s from 95 to 114 .

Joe - Nauset   purchased the Harbor Pilot, America, Eagle and Scout molds from Squadron Yachts  in the early 80's. Nauset built a handful of Pilots,  America's and Downeasters(Eagles), the Scout never went into production. The America molds were later sold and the Scout, Downeaster and pilot molds were later scraped do to thier poor condition.Sky Kings' hull number started at 111, not 101 as I stated, My mistake, sorry never to happen again! Any other questions give me a shout I'll do my best to answer them. From :

Correction - I think ?????   Nowalk and Williams started building the Pilot's first in 1974 with the Cat Rudder and stop production the same year ,Why ???? and then came SQUADRON YACHTS,INC - who continue the Cat rudder design through 1974 year . Then change over to the "NO Cat Rudder"edtion in 1975.... along comes Nauset Marine edtion in 1985 , who purchase the modified hull mold (No Cat Rudder) from SQUADRON YACHTS ,INC .......

I need Hull #'s on some of these Pilot's to truly know if my theories are Correct ..... Cardinal Joe

 SQUADRON YACHTS,INC •Boat Name: LOLA
Year: 1975 Harbor Pilot in 1975 ......
LOLA is Hull # 64
Owner statement -Built at the renowned Nowak & Williams yard in Bristol, Rhode Island, this classic Herreshoff is the only one available on the West Coast. Hull #64.
Well,I thought that Nowak & Williams when out of business in 1974 ?  I have an issue with the owners statement , because my Pilot is Hull # 63 and my title states :SQUADRON YACHTS,INC !  Also my VIN # state it was built in 1974 , but the model year on my title is 1975.......

Take note at the bottom of this bronze plate...it states Builder: SQUADRON YACHTS (1975 to ?).

Now look at the bottom of my bronze plate ....it states Builder: Nowak & Williams (1974).

I will update this poor foto with a new picture...

So, why does my Pilot hull #63 state both Builder's Plates ? Well ,maybe Nowak & Williams started production of my 1974/1975 Pilot and SQUADRON YACHTS finish my Pilot ?  Or when SQUADRON YACHTS purchased the Pilot Hull Mold from Nowak & Williams they obtain some left over Herreshoff Pilot Bronze plates ! ..... Obviously , this is another theory of mine .....
