Sail numbers and sail makers

Okay, I've dug out the sails that came with my 12 1/2, hull #1498 built in 1941 by HMC.  The jib is brand new and never been used so that doesn't help me historically.  However the mainsail looks to be quite old.  It has a light blue triangle sewed into the corner near the tack.

So does anyone know who the sailmaker might be that used a triangle for their logo?

Additionally, she has sail number 25.  Was there any rhyme or reason for assigning sail numbers, or is this left up tothe owner?

The new jib was made by Colie sails.  I will look them up to see if they are still in existance to see if they have any records on who bought it and when.

Typically, sail numbers were assigned by the yacht club that a boat raced in.  If it was Beverly Yacht Club, we have fairly good records.  Is the number '25' standalone, or is it something like 'H 25' or 'BB 25'?
Is it a cotton sail or a modern fabric lile Dacron?  Maybe you could post a photo of the logo?

The 25 is stand alone on the mid part of the sail between the middle battens.

The "H" is in the normal area further up the sail and closer to the mast.

I'll try to remember to take a photo of the logo this weekend.

I believe most of the boat's life was in Tom's River NJ.  I'll look into what yacht clubs she might have belonged to.  Maybe they have some records that go back to the late 1940'S or early '50s
