ELENA 6 - ELEONORA 0, report from Le Voiles de St. Tropez 2009

6 - 0 in favor of ELENA is the current race standing of the two replica schooners following 5 straight days of racing at le voiles de St Tropez  last week.   The experience of going head to head in these 200+ ton schooners was amazing.   Even though I hoped the yachts would be trading wins, I can't say I'm disappointed with the results.  The 55 crew on ELENA worked tremendously well together and the after guard included all the talent you could hope for when it comes to large schooner racing.  I'll get a more detailed race report and pictures together later.  Have to tend to my full voice mail box at the moment...Adam

PS - the NY40 ROWDY won overall.

WOW!!! Great shots - must have been something to see. Was the other big herreshoff Schooner MARIETTE there as well??

That third shot is great.

55 crew ?  I guess that pretty much rules out a spur-of-the-moment Saturday afternoon spin?

That was certainly Halsey at the helm in one shot.  Now, was it Elena or Elenora?

All of that onboard schooner footage is from ELENA, but if you want to see pictures of HH driving ELEONORA I have those as well...
