Changing power HA 18
« on: April 04, 2015, 11:31:57 PM »
I have a 1973 HA18 which had a yanmar inboard.  I am in process of repowering with electric.  I would Ike some input on battery placement ( currently I am thinking to the left of companion way in the porta potty spot. ). 3 battery bank and 1 house.  Also moved from saltwater to fresh should any on the ballest be removed?

I would speak to the original designers - herreshoff design in Bristol, RI.

Weight distribution can be a tricky thing.

Up in the Bow would be my first choice , or in the stern around the Cat seat area . I had placed my dual batteries in the custom teak console that I sat on to steer the boat !  Cardinal Joe  :)
