HA18 Nav lights
« on: May 04, 2015, 07:34:44 PM »
I would like to replace the tear drop nav lights on my HA18 with the lantern style i see on other HA18s. Does anyone now where I might obtain such lights?

You mean these or the smaller ones?

Those Lantern Style Nav. Light were a Special edition model .  I forget the year but it came with a special edition sail also, I may have a picture of it ?

I didn't know there was a special edition model HA18. I would live to see the sail pic if you find one.

That being the case (special edition model) I'm thinking finding an original pair of the nav lights will be near impossible. Of course trying to find them is half the fun.

I think it was an " Anniversary Model "  but can't remember the year ?  I'll look for the picture of the Sail.

The lights in question are made by Den Haan in Rotterdam. They have an electrified version (slightly different) and a oil version - known as "emergency navigation lights". Joe is correct in these were offered as an "Anniversary" package - I believe to celebrate the 200th US anniversary - IE 1776-1976. I have been told that they were actually the OIL ones (known as "emergency lights") - not electrified - so I don't believe they would meet current USCG regs today. That said the Oil version could be electrified (12v) very easily...

Original Oil (lower picture):

Electric "decorative" version:

This is NOT the picture of the  " Anniversary Sail " package - ( celebrate the 200th US anniversary - IE 1776-1976 ), I'm looking for , but the Sail had a similar USA Flag Logo as in this picture ......
